Peace of Mind

Our Warranty & Aftercare Promise

Every installation we complete is backed by a minimum 5-year warranty covering materials, fittings, and workmanship — giving you complete confidence in your investment.

What Is Covered

Our warranty covers every aspect of your installation from day one.

Materials & Components

All shutter panels, frames, louvres, hinges, tilt rods, and hardware are covered against manufacturing defects and material failure for a minimum of 5 years from the date of installation.

Workmanship & Installation

Any issue arising from the installation process — including alignment, fitting, or fixing — is covered at no charge. We will return to adjust or rectify any installation issue within the warranty period.

Finish & Colour

The painted or stained finish on your shutters is covered against peeling, cracking, or significant fading under normal indoor conditions for the full warranty period.

Mechanism & Operation

All moving parts — louvre tilt mechanisms, panel hinges, tracked systems, and bi-fold mechanisms — are covered against mechanical failure under normal domestic use.

What Is Not Covered

The following are outside the scope of the warranty:

  • Damage caused by misuse, accidental damage, or deliberate force
  • Damage caused by exposure to excessive moisture, steam, or condensation in rooms not designed for shutters (e.g. wet rooms without adequate ventilation)
  • Normal wear and tear over time (e.g. minor surface scratches from everyday use)
  • Modifications or repairs carried out by a third party without prior written consent from Shutters by Balaz
  • Damage caused by extreme environmental conditions outside normal domestic use
  • Cosmetic issues that do not affect the function or structural integrity of the shutters

How to Make a Warranty Claim

Making a claim is straightforward. We aim to respond to all warranty enquiries within 2 business days.

1

Contact us

Get in touch by phone, email, or WhatsApp. Describe the issue and include a photo if possible — this helps us understand the problem before visiting.

2

Assessment

We will assess whether the issue falls within the warranty. In most cases, we can confirm this from a photo and description. If a visit is needed, we will arrange a convenient time.

3

Rectification

All valid warranty claims are rectified at no charge. Depending on the issue, this may involve an adjustment visit, replacement of a component, or in rare cases, replacement of a panel.

4

Confirmation

Once the work is complete, we will confirm the issue has been resolved and provide any updated documentation if the warranty period has been extended as a result.

Why a Warranty Matters When Choosing a Shutter Company

When you invest in bespoke plantation shutters, you are making a long-term decision for your home. Unlike blinds or curtains, shutters are a permanent fixture — and the quality of both the product and the installation directly determines how long they last and how well they perform.

A meaningful warranty is not just a piece of paper. It tells you that the company stands behind its work, that the materials used are of sufficient quality to last, and that if anything goes wrong, you will not be left to deal with it alone.

At Shutters by Balaz, our minimum 5-year warranty is backed by the fact that every installation is carried out by our own family team. There are no subcontractors, no third parties, and no ambiguity about who is responsible. If there is ever an issue, you deal directly with the people who fitted your shutters.

We serve customers across Hampshire, Berkshire, and Surrey — including Winchester, Basingstoke, Southampton, Reading, Newbury, Hook, Fleet, Farnham, Alton, Romsey, Andover, and the surrounding areas. All warranty work is carried out in person, at your home, at no charge within the warranty period.
